Code of Conduct
Digital Futures Gathering 2025 and the SUPERRR Community
1. Purpose
A primary goal of SUPERRR is to be inclusive to the largest number of people with the
most varied and diverse backgrounds possible. As such, we are committed to providing a
friendly, safe(r) and welcoming environment. This code of conduct outlines our
expectations for all those who participate in our community and events, including
any social activities that form part of the schedule for our events, as well as the
consequences for unacceptable behaviour. We invite all those who participate in
SUPERRR to help us create safe and positive experiences for everyone.
2. Expected Behaviour
- Participate in an authentic and active way. In doing so, you contribute to the health
and longevity of this community. - Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions.
- Attempt collaboration before conflict; in cases of disagreement, we invite you to
address the idea, don‘t attack the person. - Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and speech.
- Be mindful of your surroundings and fellow participants. Alert the Awareness Team
or someone from the SUPERRR Team if you notice a dangerous situation,
someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct, even if they seem
inconsequential. - Be mindful of accessibility needs: use inclusive language, avoid jargon, speak
clearly and at a moderate pace, respect physical and communication boundaries,
and do what you can to ensure that everyone can participate fully. - We invite self-reflection, tolerance for mistakes (your own and others’), and
generosity. - We invite you to voice and/or take care of your own needs.
3. Unacceptable Behaviour
Unacceptable behaviours include: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory,
derogatory or demeaning speech or actions by any participant in our community online, at
all events and related social activities in one-on-one communications carried out in the
context of community business. Event venues may be shared with members of the public;
please be respectful to all patrons of these locations.
Harassment includes harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments related for example
to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability; inappropriate use of nudity and/or
sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides); deliberate intimidation,
stalking or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or
other events; inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
We recognise that the topics of this event may lead to disagreements, and we see a
difference between the unacceptable behaviours described above, and conflicts or
disagreements that are part of any diverse community space. We want to create a space
where conflict can be constructive, not destructive. In the case of such conflicts, we will
provide support to the best of our capacity, and we invite you to take responsibility for what
you need to be able to show up in conflict in a respectful, generous and grounded way.
4. Consequences of Unacceptable Behaviour
Unacceptable behaviour from any participant, including funders, partners and those with
decision-making authority, will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable
behaviour is expected to comply immediately. If a community member engages in
unacceptable behaviour, the organizing team may take any action they deem appropriate,
up to and including a temporary ban or permanent expulsion from the event and
community without warning (and without refund in the case of a paid event).
5. If You Witness or Are Subject to Unacceptable Behaviour
If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behaviour, or have any other concerns,
please notify the local Awareness Team (Rafia and Kholoud) or event hosts as soon as
possible. You can contact the Awareness Team in person or by phone +49 176 60903325

Events and Community Manager. SUPERRR team members are also available to help
community members engage with local law enforcement or to otherwise help those
experiencing unacceptable behaviour feel safe. We are also happy to provide escorts as
desired by the person experiencing distress.
Reports will be handled confidentially within the Awareness/organizing team, with
information shared strictly on a need-to-know basis.
